Good to know

Frequently asked questions.

Everything you might be wondering about designing your one-of-a-kind pair. Still curious? We'd love to chat.

Designing & Customizing

How does the custom process work? +

It begins with a virtual vision session where we talk through your dress, your venue, and your shoe dreams. From there you choose a base silhouette, we define every detail together — sparkle, color, laces, finishing touches — and Julie handcrafts your pair by hand.

What can I customize? +

Nearly everything. Hand-placed pearls or crystals (from a subtle scatter to a full takeover), your signature something-blue accent, satin ribbon or organza laces, monograms, dates, and detachable bows. If you can dream it, we'll find a way to make it.

Can you match my wedding colors? +

Absolutely. Bring your palette to the vision session and we'll weave it into the design — from a hidden blue tongue to a full custom colorway.

What if I want a shoe that isn't on your list? +

That's our Uniquely You commission. Bring a pair from your closet or let us source your dream silhouette, and we'll design from a completely blank canvas.

Comfort & Fit

Do I need to break them in? +

Never. Your shoes are built on a comfortable silhouette you already love and arrive ready for the big day. Just lace them up and dance.

How do I get my size right? +

We'll guide you through sizing during your vision session, including any half-size and width considerations for the base you choose.

Pricing, Timing & Orders

How much does a custom pair cost? +

Each collection lists a starting price. Your final quote depends on the base silhouette and the level of detail you choose, and is confirmed during your vision session — no surprises.

How far in advance should I order? +

Because every pair is handcrafted to order, we recommend reaching out as early as possible — ideally 8–12 weeks before your date. Have a shorter timeline? Ask us; we'll do our best to accommodate.

Do you make pairs for bridesmaids or gifts? +

Yes! Coordinating pairs for your wedding party and custom gifts are some of our favorite projects. Mention it in your vision session.

Are you affiliated with Converse, Nike, Vans, or Adidas? +

No. Something Blue is an independent, third-party customization boutique and is not affiliated with, authorized, or endorsed by those brands. We customize shoes you provide or that we source on your behalf.
